The point of this book is to help you heal whatever disease or illness you have, but it’s also about emphasizing the importance of good health by means of prevention.

I have been impressed with the usefulness of books by Dr. Michael Murray so I asked him what he thought was most important for people to know. His response was, “Good health and prevention of disease require paying attention to the main cornerstones of diet, attitude, and proper supplementation. Each is as important as the other.” Dr. Murray recognizes that the way you feel when you wake up each morning is as important as eating your veggies, and that eating your vegetables needs to be part of a good vitamin plan.

When you practice preventative medicine, you are taking the reins and charging toward recovery and good health. Unfortunately, there are many people, people you know, who think they are in good health because they are not sick. Just because you are not battling cancer at the current moment does not mean you are healthy, nor does it mean you might not be fighting that same monster at a later date. Good health cannot be gauged by the absence of disease.

At one time I thought I was as healthy as humanly possible. I was a vegetarian, took loads of vitamins, practiced holistic medicine here and there, and knew all about herbs. I had no idea that all sorts of crazy, bad bacteria were quietly conspiring against me in the depths of my gut, so I didn’t sweat it too much when I ate a bag of candy. Had I known then what I know now—what you will learn in this book that took me next to death’s door before discovering—I would have taken steps to clear a long-term, silent infection that could easily have killed me.

What you have going on in your body right now is anybody’s guess. If you are sick or suffering in some way, at least you know there’s something going on and now you can work to reverse it. For those who aren’t aware of anything feeling wrong right now, I ask that you seriously consider whether or not you feel 100% of how you think you should.

Ignorance isn’t always bliss. Is your diet healthy, clean, and whole? Do you eat processed, pesticide-soaked food? Do you smoke or drink too much alcohol or caffeine? Are you living or working in an environment that’s laced with toxins, physical or emotional?

Prevention is the key to complete wellness. Please read this book, not only with your eye on the essential idea of healing illness, but rather as a new way to look at life from this point on. Decide that you’re no longer willing to settle just for surviving. From here on out, it’s about thriving and being completely well.
