What you put out into the Universe in thoughts, feelings and actions, will come back to you many times over. However, with the recent success of the hit movie and book, "The Secret," many people seem to be misunderstanding the concept.
First of all, too many people are under the impression that the law of attraction means we take no action. Not true! The trick is to START creating in your mind, whatever it is you truly desire, and then follow it up with positive action.
On a scientific level, what we are talking about is known as "Quantum Physics." Quantum physics tell us that we are all made up of the very same kind of energy. In other words, if you put your hand, a leaf, and a chair under a microscope, you would see the same kind of subatomic particles dancing around. The only difference would be the speed at which each item vibrates. The solid chair's energy would be vibrating very slowly and your hand, quickly. Thought mixed with emotion vibrates like a race-horse.
The next fact is that our thoughts are made up of this same kind of energy. The only thing is that our thoughts are not limited by physical form so they are able to move much more rapidly. When we think good things, this is terrific news, however, when we focus on what we don't want (when we worry) this is terrible news! This is the exact reason why those things you worry about always seem to come to pass.
Obviously there are zillions of books and resources out there that dive into much deeper detail. In fact, most of the books you can buy here are based on the law of attraction. Interestingly, this is not a new concept at all. In fact, as far back as the Bible, the law of attraction was being preached, "As a man so thinketh, so shall he be."
While it's easy enough to understand (although I've merely summarized it here) it's a bit more challenging to put into practice. We're only human; we forget, we slack off, we get mad, or we don't get immediate results and then think the whole idea is a farce. Well, I promise you it's not. With time, dedication and practice, you too can enjoy the easy efforts of positive intention, action and energy.

The Law of Attraction is as real as the words you are reading. Make it work for you.
KEY ELEMENTS TO THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
- "See" what it is you want (learn to visualize in detail). Write it down as if it's already happened.
- Keep your mind filled with only positive thoughts. Each negative thought, worry or criticism, only keeps you further from your goals. Remember, what you focus on expands.
- Start taking small steps toward your goal, even if that means searching the Internet, making a phone call, or cleaning out your closet. Every effort and action has a definite reaction that falls in alignment.
- Affirm your desires as if they are happening now. Affirmations must be in the positive and present. Not "I will start my own home-based business." But, "I am starting my home-based business now!"
- Act "as if." Don't let anything get you down, and when it does, get right back up. Live your day to day life as if your dreams are on their way. And they are, since you've already ordered them....they are coming! This is the law of EXPECTATION.
- Finally, have an attitude of gratitude. Notice and acknowledge all the good that you already have in your life.
A final Tip: one thing that might help you on a daily basis is learn to stay in what I call "the flow." An analogy comes from Esther Hicks. She talks about the fact that we are all so busy paddling upstream that we don't realize, life becomes joyful when we simply go with the FLOW. It takes time and practice, but I can promise you, when you focus on feeling good and releasing anything that causes stress or bad feelings, you will be that much closer to attracting the wonderful life you want and deserve. Turn your row boat around and go gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
